Maine House

Davidson worked with clients on the total renovation of a beautiful classic New England farmhouse in the harbor community of Camden, Maine. Rather than tearing down or adding on to the historic farmhouse, the rabbit-warren of little rooms was gutted and reworked to reflect modern day living, but fits within the original shell of the home. Partnering with architect Peter Gross and Maine Coast Construction, this is a story of great collaboration between client, architect, designer and builder. Taking everything down to the stud walls, they sought to create a current and fresh atmosphere while respecting the heritage and tradition of the vernacular architecture.

A beautiful kitchen features the local craftsmanship of The Kennebec Company and was highlighted in the Merryspring Garden Center Kitchen Tour. Because the owner is an accomplished chef, the kitchen was designed intentionally to facilitate his cooking and the couple’s frequent entertaining.
